I think this is going to be a great math opportunity. The science blog was so much fun, I can't see why this wouldn't be fun. Also, this is a great way to learn how to read, think and talk about how to solve problems even before finding an answer. Adalyn
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you, Ady! I think using a blog to learn math is so cool and the challenge is that you need to find the strategy and not the answer. Stephanie :)
ReplyDeleteI found one of strategies that can solve the problem. First you need to add all the other activities vote then subtract it by the amount of people that was suppose to vote and use the answer and make it into a fraction. Divide the denominator by 100, use the answer and divide it by the numerator. Your new answer will tell you which percentage is right.
ReplyDeleteStephanie :)
steph,I totally agree. I used your strategy and it worked.though I didn't find a different strategy yet.
ReplyDeleteAdalyn
Well I think it is about 25% and I got that answer by adding up the number of students that signed up for an activity which is 98. From 98 I added on till I reached 130 which took about 30. that’s my strategy to get to the answer. Mark
ReplyDeleteI agree with Adalyn. This is a great opportunity to share ideas and strategies about hw to solve a problem. Also the science blog was a success i don’t see why the math blog can be a success plus, at the same time we would be having fun! :P Valeria
ReplyDeleteI did the question and it's pretty easy. But I can't find any other strategy.
ReplyDeleteAdalyn
I agree with mark that the answer is 25% because when I did the strategies that I suggested it also gave me the same answer. Stephanie :)
ReplyDeleteBecause this Question is a problem solving question you can do Info, What, Show, State. That will help you solve the problem. Stephanie :P
ReplyDeletewow! I agree with the way group 7 solved their
ReplyDeleteanswer. I think the strategies group 7 posted were very good because it helped them problem solve their way through the question, one strategy menchioned that I think was a really good strategy was the info, what, show, state because it organized their work, and made me understand how they solved the problem.
